President Goodluck Jonathan

What a world…During a conversion with an Ijaw friend he reiterated that no well meaning Ijaw man is interested in giving any meaningful assistance to bring the Urhobo man to limelight. His reason being that the Ijaws believe that the Urhobo people always thought they are smarter.
I was shocked at his view. The most amazing of it all is that not only that the Ijaws at the grass root have this view about the Urhobo people, but President Goodluck Jonathan who happen to be an Ijaw man and a National leader may also be nursing this view against the Urhobo people of the Niger Delta.
Maybe this is the reason why Jonathan is distancing the Urhobo people from being part of his administration. It would be recalled that when President Jonathan was made the Acting President, it took him a very long time after a lot of outcry before he reluctantly brought in Chief Gbagi as a junior minister. Although we later rumoured that he gave Urhobos that slot because of his political ambition to win Urhobo votes.
For crying out loud, the Urhobo people are the 5th largest tribe in this Nation. It is a known fact that one of the best crude oil in the world was discovered in Urhobo land and also one of the biggest gas plant in the whole of West Africa is located in Urhobo land. But today because of the sentiment that has entered into politics and the intention to enslave setting groups so as to make them irrelevant in national politics.
President Jonathan has embark on the strategy the Hausa/Fulani used against the Southerners subjecting them as beggars under their ruler ship. This is the tactic he is using against the Urhobo people of the Niger Delta because of his own view about them.
It is unconstitutional and improper for President Jonathan who is an Ijaw man to pick an Ijaw man from Delta State as a minister under him.
