LAGOS NOVEMBER 30TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Urhobo Progress Union, United Kingdom has announced first scholarship grant award to deserving indigenes of Urhobo Kingdom in accredited institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.
A press release jointly signed by the National President of Urhobo Progress Union, United Kingdom, Chief (Barr) Emmanuel Okpako Ganiga, National Assistant Secretary, UPU, UK Rev Emmanuel Usikaro and National Publicity Secretary, UPU, UK, Olorogun Ted Ochuko Arayki stated that an eligible applicant must provide the full names they have been answering by birth, provide address and telephone number, be a native of Urhobo, must have or about to complete OND in a Polytechnic or 200 level in a university.
The statement further disclosed that an applicant must be in a federal or state schools, stressing that applicants in private schools are not eligible for the scholarship.
“Applicants must provide a local government of origin identification along with the application . A letter from either the applicant’s head of clan, UPU PG of communities, Justice of Peace (JP) or letter from a King must accompany the application.
“To be eligible applicant must be studying a course in one of the following: Accountancy, Law, Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, , Mass communication,Management,Architecture,Banking and Finance,STEM and Urhobo language,” the statement explained, adding that applicants should download the application from www.upuuk.org
It stated that a completed form with a type written statement of not more than 250 words stating why you should be enlisted for the award should address to “The Secretary Scholarship Grant ward Committee, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU UK).
The completed application form should be returned by email to info@upuuk.org before December 20th, 2015.
