Security Guard Killed As Okowa’s Aide Escapes Gunmen Attack


LAGOS NOVEMBER 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Transport, Hon. Charles Kwode at the early hours of on Wednesday escaped an assassination attempt by suspected assassins, just as his security guard was killed.
A close associate of Charles Kwode who preferred anonymity told INDEPENDENT that the suspected assassins came in their numbers at about 1am of on Wednesday 18 November, 2020.
The source stated further that immediately they gained access into the compound, the assassins shot the security guard on the head and he died on the spot.
“Thereafter they broke into his house but their first attempt was on the children’s room thinking it was Charles Kwode’s room. On sensing danger Kwode narrowly escaped though the fence but met one of the assassins who was on watch-out outside the gate.
“It was the assassin who was on watch-out outside the compound that hit him with an iron rod severally before he managed to escape”, he added.
When contacted, his elder brother, Dr. Matthew Kwode confirmed the story, saying it was God that delivered his dear brother from the hands of the suspected assassins.
According to him, ” we have officially incident the case at the Otu-Jeremi Police Station for them to do their work.
All efforts to get comments from the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command prove abortive as she didn’t respond to call to her mobile phone.
