Ex-Ibori’s Aide Demands 500,000 Pounds from UK Govt for Unlawful Detention

Chief Westherm Edehor

LAGOS JULY 5TH (URHOBOYODAY) -Special Adviser to former Governor James Ibori of Delta State, Chief Westham Adehor (JP), has demanded for an apology and payment of £500,000:00 from the United Kingdom (UK) Border Agency Hub, Luner House, Wellesley Road, Crydon CR 92BY for an alleged harassment and wrongful detention over possession of hard drugs.
In a letter written to U.K agency by Fargaz. Mudiaga Odje Ewewu Chambers, Warri (solicitor to Chief (Hon) Westham Adehor) to the U.K agency titled, “The Harassment And Illegal Detention of Honourable Chief Westham Adehor (JP) by the U.K Border Agency Security Official (The Revenue And Customs Prosecution) operating at the Heathrow Airport Terminal 4, London” dated June 13, 2013.
It was stated that attempts were unsuccessfully made by the said agency to implicate Chief Adehor with the possession of cocaine through several medical tests at hospitals in the U.K.
The People Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and community leader had traveled to the U.K via Air Arik Airline on May 20, 2013 for a business trip when he was allegedly wrongfully accused of the crime by the British officials on arrival at the Heathrow Airport, terminal 4, London.
According to the letter, the British official made a belated apologies to the Chairman, Board of Trustee, Urhobo Development Association, after a futile attempt to implicate him with their charges. “And it was after this last futile and vain attempt to implicate our client that your security personal offered belated and hypocritical apologies to our client and thereafter coerced our client into signing an entry form to formally allow him into the U.K.”
The Warri based solicitor of Adehor who in the letter described the action of the British officials as primitive and outmoded form of justice named Jeburgh Justice (an antediluvian brand of justice that involves punishment first for suspects and trial by court afterwards)” also noted that the action of the British officials borders on display of acute racism in a political and judicial system of a country which prides itself as the bastion of home of equality freedom.”
Therefore, Fargaz Odje on behalf of Chief Westham Adehor (JP) demanded from the U.K. agency as compensation within 20 days of the receipt of the letter, a written apology and payment of five hundred thousand pounds sterling for the regrettable incident that occurred on 20th – 21st May 2013. And that failure to comply to the demands will lead to a legal action against the U.K. Agency to address the grievances of Chief Westham Adehor (JP) in the U.K.
