Yaya Toure, Aboutreika, Keshi Win CAF Award

HAT-TRICK KING: Yaya Toure crowned Africa Footballer of the Year for the third time last night.


LAGOS JANUARY 10TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Cote d’Ivoire’s Yaya Toure on Thursday again won the 2013 Glo-CAF African Player of the year award ahead of Nigeria’s John Obi Mikel and countryman, Didier Drogba.
Egypt’s Mohammed Aboutreika also beat Nigeria’s Sunday Mba to the African Player of the year based in Africa.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi however emerged as the Coach of the year at the event held in Lagos, Nigeria.
Also African Champions, Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat the Stallions of Burkinafaso and Wallya of Ethiopia to become the best team of the year while Nigeria Supporters Club was also honoured in the night which saw the emergence of three Nigerians as part of the African 11 team.
The African 11, with Nigeria’s Stephen Keshi as coach, has Mikel, Emmanuel Emenike and Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama as members.
