War in The Creeks, as Nigeria Military Engages Niger Delta Avengers in Fierce Battle
LAGOS AUGUST 16TH (URHOBOTODAY)-An official information reaching Urhobotoday has revealed that there is fierce battle between the combined forces of Nigeria military and Niger Delta militants tagged “Niger Delta Avengers” in Nembe creeks, Bayelsa State.
According the source, the battle which started since on Monday was ignited when the militants attacked a military post by the sea, disarmed the soldiers and escaped with a military gunboat.
In attempt to revenge the attack and probably retrieve the gunboat, soldiers invaded the town searching for militants, while aircrafts are bombing the militant hideouts.
The militants, on the other hand, have also launched counter-offensive.
They are firing anti-aircraft guns trying to bring down the planes.
