Nigerian Students Decry Closure of Public Schools in Borno State
LAGOS MARCH 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)- National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone B, has condemned the recent closure of public schools in the troubled state of Borno due to the senseless and callous killing of innocent citizens by the blood sucking demons called Boko Haram.
A statement signed by NANS Zone B Public Relation Officer (PRO) Comrade Pedro Obi made available to URHOBOTODAY said the closure of the schools is of great disservice to the r innocent children of Borno State who would be sitting at home while their counterparts in other states of the Federation are climbing an all important ladder of human development.
“We call on the Borno State Government, to please look inward for an alternative means to secure these children while they attend their school or better still sponsor their schooling outside the State, as we cannot afford to see our brothers/sisters roaming the streets with the attendant psychological trauma attached to it and causing more nuisance to the society as these children at home can easily be recruited into the terror group,” the statement advised.
While commending the Federal Government for her effort in bringing the insurgents under control, they charged all security agencies to intensify manhunt against blood thirsty Boko Haram.
“To the saboteur in this fight against this insurgent, you should be aware that “an Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice Everywhere”; on this note, NANS calls on all hands to be on deck for the total eradication of this terror group in our society,” the statement declared.
