LAGOS JUNE 2ND (URHOBOTODAY)-Two lovers Saheed Akinwale and Hajia Zainab Salisu have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stealing two kids, 12-months-old Feyitola Lawal and seven-months-old Taiwo Salisu from different parents at Abule Egba, Alimosho LGA, Lagos State.
Police source revealed to Urhobotoday on Wednesday that Hajia Sainab Salisu had once told Saheed Akinwale that he was pregnant for him and she needed money to travel to United States to deliver the babies, adding that after collecting N250, 000 from him, she disappeared only to appear months later with two babies, whom she claimed were their babies.
While she renamed the babies which she stole from two different families Kehinde for Feyitola, she gave Philip the name Taiwo and remained under that cover till she was arrested by the police and the real parents of Feyitola were notified.
Urhobotoday reliably lesrnt that she was arrested by the police who tracked her through the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) of Justrite Stores, where she was last seen in the company of Mrs. Lawal and her baby, Feyitola.
Addressing members of Crime Reporters Association (CRAN), Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the act and arrest of the culprits said the arrest was based solely on intelligence-driven investigation.
She said, “On May 16, 2016, Feyitola Lawal, a 12-month-old baby, was stolen from the mother at Abule Egba two weeks ago.
“The journey for the arrest started from Itoken in Ogun State. Zainab Salisu pretended to be a buyer and trickishly sent the woman to Justrite and she bolted with her baby.
“The case was reported to all the divisions in Abule Egba and she was tracked down and the baby was recovered from her custody.
“Also seen in her custody was a seven-months old baby (Philip) she could not give account of which the command reasonably suspects was stolen.
“Parents should be weary of all friends that can’t be traced because most of them comes under the criminal disguise of friendships.”
