LAGOS JULY 3RD (URHOBOTODAY)-The management of Diamond Bank located at Trade-Fair Complex (Aspamda), Lagos-Badagry Expressway is presently at logger head with a customer, Mr Raymond Chilaka who claimed the bank branch marketer absconded with Nineteen thousand Euro which he paid to him in the banking hall to be transfer to his agent in Germany.
Urhobotoday gathered that the Diamond Bank marketer simply identified as Moris after collecting the money from Raymond Chilaka, a sole agent Sole Agent of MEYLE Germany Products and Dealer of kinds of motor parts rather went away with the fund instead of paying it into the bank’s vault and transfer it to Chilaka’s agent abroad as agreed.
Chilaka was amazed when the next day he visited Trade Fair Diamond Bank Branch Manager to affirmed the successful transfer of the fund only to be told that Moris has resigned.
Our source revealed that Moris has been the official Diamond bank marketer to Chilaka for years and he has been using him to deposit and transfer money in the bank until this recent one when Moris agreed to transfer the money to his agent abroad only to discover that the money was not transferred and he is nowhere to be found.
The police was reported to have stepped into the issue by asking the bank to produce Moris or face the wrath of the law.
Although the Branch Manager has agreed to pay back the money to Chilaka hence he is a long time customer to them and the transaction took place in the banking hall of Diamond bank.
But the issue on ground is that although Diamond bank Management in Trade fair branch agreed to pay the money but in Naira equivalent of 2015 rate when the incident occurred, but the importer disagree on the term stressing that he should be paid in Euro.
Urhobotoday called the telephone number (08171399888) of Moris it was switched off and true caller did not reveal his true identity. That means the telephone number was not registered with the communication network.
Urhobotoday wondered why a bank like Diamond Bank should employ a marketer without producing reliable guarantors, a reachable phone numbers and a known residential address?
