Chelsea On Course For Double, Trash Spurs 4-2 To Qualify For FA Cup Final
LAGOS APRIL 22ND (URHOBOTODAY)-Chelsea are on course to win a domestic double this season, after they saw off Tottenham Hotspur in their FA Cup semi-final clash on Saturday at Wembley.
Antonio Conte’s men took the lead early in the first half, after Willian curled in a fantastic free-kick past Hugo Lloris. Spurs equalized through Harry Kane’s deft header.
Heung-min Son fouled Victor Moses in the area before the break and the referee pointed to the spot. Willian stepped up again to smash his free-kick and restore Chelsea’s lead.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were levelled again shortly after the break, when Dele Alli’s tucked away Christian Eriksen’s whipped cross.
Eden Hazard’s introduction proved to be a masterstroke by Conte, as he scored one and set up the last goal for Nemanja Matic, to seal their place in the final.
They will take on either Arsenal or Manchester City, who play each other on Sunday.
