2015: Urhobo Youths Back Jonathan, Slam Northern Elders, Amaechi for Distracting Jonathan
JULY 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)- Urhobo National Youth Council, UNYC, yesterday, told the Northern Elders Forum to desist from distracting President Goodluck Jonathan in the implementation of his transformational agenda for the benefit of citizens.
National President of the group, Mr Monday Oyeghe, while fielding questions from newsmen in Ughelli, Delta State, also northen elders to stop insulting the people of the South South region.
Oyeghe said: “They should also stop sending wrong signals to the masses in the North. The North governed the country for close to 40 years, but the South South has governed for just five years and they are complaining. They are heating up the polity unnecessarily. They should stop destroying our nascent democracy.
“We enjoin them to join hands with the President and key into the transformational agenda. We also call on Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State to be loyal to the President. We, the people of South South need nothing short of the presidency in 2015 and not the vice president position that Amaechi is aspiring for.”
“We also call on the five Northern governors headed by Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, who visited Amaechi, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and General Ibrahim Babangida to stop their campaign of calumny against the President.”
