Why I took over construction of federal roads in Delta – Uduaghan

Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan

Asaba — GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, Tuesday, said that he deliberately took over the construction of some federal roads that run through the state due their economic viability to the state, but would not rule out seeking refund from the Federal Government.
He, however, lamented the incessant vandalisation of some of the projects, such as schools, in some communities. Several primary and secondary schools, according to the governor, had been constructed under the special infrastructure put in place to fast track development in the state at a cost of N7 billion.

The governor, who spoke through the Commissioner for Special Duties (Special Infrastructure), Mrs. Orezi Esievo, at a media parley in Asaba, said: “The 149km road, that I like calling 300 kilometre, is one of the best decisions that this governor has taken. It stretches from Ughelli to Asaba, and opens up over 70 communities.”
