In recognition of his determinations for the betterment of the Niger Delta Region and Nigerian project, courage, selflessness and kindness for mankind, the Delta Youths in Politics (DYP) has last weekend honoured the National Chairman of the Urhobo Political Movement (UPM), Commissioner in the board of DESOPADEC, Chief Chris Emaye Obiuwevbi (aka Ominimini) with a prestigious award of Grand Social Crusader.
Presenting the award, the group who hailed his patriotism and pragmatic approach to the promotion of moral refinement in the politics of the State and the country at large, noted that the recipient has contributed to the overall development of the State, shaping the politics of Delta State, re-defining and a promoting of moral values and refinement of politics in the country.
The group used the avenue to appeal to the recipient to empower the Delta State Youths in Politics to enable them to have a loud voice and strength to achieve their spirited goals of grass root mobilization in the pursuit of building a safer, hopeful and better delta State and Nigeria.
Responding, the recipient disclosed that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has committed a lot of funds into the board of DESOPADEC adding that the commission has no reasons to fail the State Government.
His words, “Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan today has funded DESOPADEC very well and therefore DESOPADEC has no reason or excuse to fail hence people like us are working hard everyday to ensure we deliver dividends of democracy to the people.”
He urged the group to be straight forward in carrying out their group activities and to be courageous, faithful and steadfast if their names must be written in gold.
He further urged Delta Youths in Politics to use their forum to drive and as a political platform to work and support President Goodluck Jonathan second tenure bid saying people of the region may not be feet so much now but when he leaves office come 2019 you will know that you have benefited from his administration.
