UPU California Chapter Donates Computer Items to Delta State University

The Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka yesterday got a major boost when the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) Northern California, U.S.A., donated several computer items running into millions of naira to the institution.
The donated items meant for the Computer Laboratory Students and Medical Chemistry/Surgical Laboratory of DELSU are 41 Dell Desk Top Computers, 38 PC Monitors; 1 HP 2100 Laser Printer; 2 HP 1100 Laser Printer; 1 HP 6L Laser Printer; 1 Compact J300 Desk Printer + Scanner; 4500 HP Printer (1); 1 HP 4600 Printer; 6 Dell Flat Screen and 32 PC Keyboards.

Others include 21 Boxes of Petri dishes/20 bags; 6 Conical Flax Pyrex; 1 Box of Rubber Stoppers; 400ml Beaker (1); 600ml Beaker (2); 250ml Beaker (1); 100ml Beaker (2); Drain Vials with stopper (3); Laparoscopy Surgical Unit (1); Otoscope (15); Leica Surgical Microscope (1); Microcentrifuge Tubes (1); HP 895 Desk Printer (1); Dell Laptops (21) and Printer Toners (HP; Brothers etc).
Presenting the items to DELSU, Mr. Emmanuel Ntekume, the immediate past President of Urhobo Progressive Union, Northern California, U.S.A. said, “We are here to donate several items to DELSU in order to help our people back home.”
He added that; “We know that Government cannot do it all alone and we are aware of what our people need back home, hence we decided to assisting DELSU by giving a little hand through this donation that is meant to make our students rub shoulders with their counterparts in any part of the world and advised the institution to make good use of the items.”
Receiving the items, DELSU VC, Prof. Eric Arubayi expressed gratitude for the gesture, promising that the items would be put into good use.
“We are grateful to the UPU Northern California, USA for this donation to DELSU today. The items will go a long way in teaching and learning. We are going to use them for the purpose for which they are donated. The people in the Isoko area are assisting DELSU greatly and I want to implore people around Abraka and Asaba areas to do more for the University and like ‘Oliver Twist’ we are asking the UPU California, USA branch to still do more,” Prof. Arubayi stated.
According to him, “Government alone cannot provide the needs of the University and so we are appealing to other well meaning Deltans and spirited individuals to emulate the kind gesture of the UPU, Northern California, USA.”
