UNIBEN N4GG Students Hail Jonathan’s Style of Governance


LAGOS FEBRUARY 17TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Students of University of Benin Chapter of Network for Good Governance (N4GG) commended President Goodluck Jonathan style of governance describing it as one of the best that has ever happened to Nigerian democracy.
The commendation was made on Tuesday by the Coordinator of N4GG UNIBEN Chapter Comrade Jubril Victor during the inauguration of N4GG Executive of University of Benin, Edo State.

Speaking during the inauguration of executive of the group, Victor Jubril commended Jonathan for strengthening Nigerian democracy adding that his style of governance exhibited excellent quality of free and fair democracy.
“Under Jonathan election has been free and fair. Credible gubernatorial elections were conducted in three states controlled by the opposition in Edo, Ondo and Anambra states which they won. Jonathan deserves commendation for not using his presidential might to rig those election. Some other ruthless leaders might have used their might to rig out the incumbent governors of the opposition party. Jonathan’s thoughtful approach had strengthened Nigeria’s democracy ,” he noted
He said Jonathan’s cerebral, thoughtful and deliberative approach to national issues had kept Nigerian democracy ahead of other African countries, adding that Jonathan’s government had brought about even distribution of federal resources in term of revenue and political appointments.
Jubril noted that his administration curbing of militancy in the Niger Delta region has made possible 50% increase in oil production, as well as an increase in economic activities, stressing that Federal presence had manifested in a new federal university in Bayelsa State, rehabilitation of the Asaba-Benin Expressway, remodeling of the Port Harcourt International Airport, the Benin Airport and the Margaret Ekpo Airport in Calabar.
“Contrary to the shrill political grandstanding of anti Jonathan Northern political elites who have accused Jonathan of lack luster performance in the North, evidence revealed a robust present of federal projects which include Police University at Wudil, Kano State, remodeling of the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport , over 200 model schools for underprivileged Almajiri kids, rehabilitation of the Tiga Dam in Kano, and ten new federal universities located at Lokoja, Lafia, Kashere, Wukari, Dutsin-Ma, Dutse, Gashua, Birnin Kebbi,Gusau among others.
Members of University of Benin chapter of N4GG are sworn during the inauguration were Victor Jubril, Umukoro Happy, Monica George, Emeka Eze, Otabor Osas and Mine Kpomah. The Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka chapter of N4GG was also inaugurated the same week.
