Protest Trails Delta NANS Election over Alleged Imposition of Candidate by Uduaghan’s Aide

By Fejiro Oliver
LAGOS FEBRUARY 3RD (URHOBOTODAY)-The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on Youths and Students Affairs, Comrade Vwegba has sabotaged the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the JCC Delta Chapter convention held yesterday at the Delta State University, Oleh Campus.
Our usual reliable source who is a student leader revealed to us that the governor’s aide alongside some disgruntled element in the State such as Prince Kuyoyo, Ezekiel Okoh Tega, Com. Ebillade and one Com. Osadebe who has refused to leave student unionism for the past 16 years decided to install their cronies so as to stop the Students Union from returning to the path of honor whose voice is not determined by government house.
We gathered that the NANS/JCC convention had as their local organizing committee members that were installed by the Governor’s aide and other stakeholders, who have never contributed anything to ameliorate the situation of students in the campuses in delta state. Most of the committee members we also found out were not students, which negate the NANS rules that all its affairs must be run by students. Some of the local organizing committee members are Ossai Ovie Success and Otete solomon
When asked why they sabotaged the Union’s convention, our source stated that “they want the convention sabotaged because the people they are trying to impose on the senators are strongly being resisted by the distinguished senators of the respective campuses across delta state.
Another reliable source told our reporters that all attempt being made to impose the stooge on NANS/JCC is due to the 2015 elections, to enable the students mobilize voters for Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan from Delta South axis in his bid to become a Senator. Over N15 million our source stated was earmarked for the plan.
Those imposed on the students during the convention include Solomon Ogoro for NANS/JCC Chairman, Ogbe Collins for NANS/JCC secretary, Adesina Olarinwaju for NANS/JCC PRO, Abasa Stunna Uloho Wayne for NANS/JCC demobilization
