Oshimili Community Laments Neglect by Delta State Government

LAGOS September 22nd (URHOBOTODAY) The people of Oshimili in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State has lamented the neglect of their area by Delta State Government over the years.
The people of the community who cried out over the continious.
neglect of their community during the inauguration of Oshimili LGA Chapter of a group under the aegis of Delta Rescue Mission (DRM) on September 18th, 2013, speaker after speaker recounted how the state government has neglected the community over the years saying “it is hard to imagine that Akwukwu-Igbo is just next door to the seat of power with nothing to show in terms of development.”
Other incidents of neglect that the people listed include the high level of unemployment and the lack of opportunities for economic development among the adult population.
Speaking in the occasion, the Coordinator of DRM in the local government area, Honourable Kevin Ofili assured them that DRM is capable of delivering on the promises of change, saying that “the people should be steadfast and unwavering in their quest for change in Delta State”.
In his remark, Mr. Tive Denedo, Director of Communication of DRM disclosed that the objective of the inauguration is to officially invest power in the local government executive to take the message of the impending change in Delta State to the grassroots, saying “we want a campaign without pain and that is cost effective but will guarantee maximum returns to all”.
The high point of the ceremony was the formal inauguration of the Hon. Ofili-led exco which has eleven members consisting of eight men and three women.
