Ogboru is Indecisive on 2015 Gov. Election, Says Julius Defection is Non-Issue

Chief Great Ovadje Ogboru

By Oteri Igho
LAGOS MARCH 11TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Meanwhile, responding to a question on whether or not he will contest the 2015 governorship election, Chief Ogboru said: “Like I have always said, the question of whether I am going to re-contest or contest is to be answered not today but at a later date in the future and that God Almighty will take control of that situation. We are looking at all options and all options are mutually inclusive. All we have done is to try rescue our people, to lead them, to show them what democracy is all about and to make them understand that alternatives are important in a democracy and that we are an alternative. Should they think we are right and proper, elect us. Until the people say they no longer want us, we will continue to stand there and wait for them to decide”
On his brother, Julius defection to the PDP, Chief Ogboru said, “The issue of Julius by brother is not an issue at all. It has been given undue attention in the press. From our place, we have leaders and we have followers. We have families, we have friends and kinsmen. I am not so sure that his decision is popular -not at the immediate community and not in the wider community. To that extent, his moving to the PDP is not a blow. It is a question of choice. Having said that, I will conclude that it was a very unpopular decision, when it was taken, how it was taken and the activities he continues to propagate”
Asked to comment on the performance of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, he said; “I don’t assess illegality. I have maintained very strongly that Uduaghan was never elected Governor of Delta State because he did not win the mandate of our people. If he has built castles or an Eldorado in the air as far as I am concerned, he was never elected as Governor of Delta State. I will not make comment on his regime whether good, bad or indifferent. All I can say is, illegality is sitting in our state.”
