Gunmen in police uniform were reported to have gone rampage on Thursday shooting sporadically in Lagos suburb of Daleko, Mushin, thereby causing pandemonium in the area. Those in the vicinity ran helter skater as the gunmen operating in commercial bus continue their operation without hindrance.
After their departure, a victim, Mr Santos Korie driving in a Toyota Highlander who sustained gunshot died on his way to the hospital.

Confirming the incident in a statement made available to Urhobotoday, Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Ms NgoZi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)
disclosed that on April 11th, 2013, at about 0700 hours, the Area Commander, Area“D” Mushin received a distress call about a shooting incident around Daleko Bridge, Mushin.
She added that some policemen were immediately dispatched to the area but on arrival the gun men had disappeared.
“On enquiry, eye witnesses clustering around told men of the Area “D” that the gun men were in Police uniform and had operated in a commercial bus. A victim, one Mr. Santos Korie driving in a Toyota Highlander died on his way to the hospital,” Braide disclosed, just as she pointed out that it was not immediately ascertained whether the gunmen were hired killers in police uniform or real Police Officers.
According to her, some arrests have been made and the suspects are currently being detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for interrogation.
She explained that following this ugly incident, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr. Umar Manko had ordered that the gun men must be fished out with a view to knowing their identities particularly as they were alleged to have operated in Police uniforms.
“It would be recalled that in recent time, gunmen operating in military and police uniforms have been involved in one violent crime or the other and the Lagos State Command is not leaving any stone unturned in dealing decisively with any fake uniformed officer.
“The Commissioner of Police hereby appeals to members of the public and especially the victim family to remain calm and embrace peace as the perpetrators of this dastardly act must be brought to book,” Braide stated.
