Jonathan, E.K.Clark, Maitama Sule,Others Expected at Emergency National Summit

Disturbed by growing insecurity and the emergency situation in the country, eminent leaders of thought, former and current leaders of governments in Nigeria are already being mobilized for a major national summit to work out political consensus on how to arrest the growing insecurity in Nigeria
This hint was dropped in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the Secretary of the National Summit planning committee, Ms Modupe Odubanjo on behalf of the arrowhead of the summit conveners; Alhaji Maitama Sule, Leader of Northern Elders Forum

The conveners also said that the three day national summit initially scheduled to hold next week at Le’ Meridian Hotels and Resorts, Uyo, Akwa Ibom Ibom, will now hold from 25th to 27th June 2013 at the same venue
Odubanjo said the national parley is expected to fashion consensus on the modality for a nationwide consultations and negotiations, while assessing the controversial issues of amnesty for Militants as well as the latest emergency rule imposed in three northern states by President Goodluck Jonathan
She said those already being invited to convene various session of the emergency national summit Eminent Jurist and Leader of the Patriots; Prof Ben Nwabueze, Leader of the Northern Political Leaders Forum, Mallam Adamu Ciroma, Former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaokwu, Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, Gen Theophilus Danjuma
Others are Chief Alex Ekwueme, Chief Chief Solomon Lar, Chief Edwin Clark, Prof Pat Utomi, Dr Tunji Braithwaite, Chief Audu Ogbeh, General Alani Akinriade, CNPP Chairman, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, Chief Olu Falae, Dr Junaid Mohammed, President of NLC, Comrade Abduwahed Omar, Former President of Bar Association, Mr Olisa Agbakoba, Barr Femi Falana, Former President of National Council of Women Society, NCWS, Hajia Ramatu Usman, President of the NUJ, Mallam Mohammed Garba, among others
According to a draft programme earlier released by the Citizens Advocacy Group, CAG; the Summit organizers, President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to deliver a keynote address to the nation at the historic event, which is expected to be attended by Governors of the three troubled states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
“The Governors will be joined by Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger, Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos, Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Rotimi Ameachi of Rivers, Comrade Adams Oshiomohole of Edo State, Seriake Dickson of Balyesa, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nassarawa, Ibrahim Shema of Katsina state, Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Jonah Jang of Plateau as well as the host Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State among others
Also expected to deliver goodwill messages at the historic event tagged national summit on the future of Nigeria are the President of the Senate, David Mark, Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwa and All former Presidents and Head of States of Nigeria as well as senior member of Project Nigeria, Nigerian Labour movement, civil and political society in the country” CAG stated
