Ijaw Monarch Hails Patani LG Boss Ekiyor Transformation Programme

LAGOS JULY 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The Monarch of Kabowei Kingdom in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State HRM, Major Erebulu (Rtd) has commended the Transition Committee Chairman of Patani LGA, Dr. Chris and his team for the transformation effort of the local government area since ascending the leadership of the area.
The Monarch who made the commendation recently during the 2013 presentation of approved budget estimate and transparency briefing of Ekiyor’s seven months stewardship in office thanked the council chairman and his team for the transformation being witnessed in the area, just as he appealed to stakeholders to co-operate with the council boss in moving the area forward.

While presenting the approved budget, Dr. Chris Ekiyor assured the people of the LGA that he would continue to follow due process in the execution of projects and programs in his effort at transforming the council to enviable heights.
Speaking at the 2013 presentation of approved budget estimate and transparency briefing of his seven months stewardship in office during a town hall meeting, Ekiyor disclosed that the budget termed ‘Budget of Restoration’ following the harrowing experience of natural flood disaster which submerged the environment is to restore the lost hope of the people as it encompasses economic, socio, health, education, rural electrification, commerce, information technology, administration and security among others.
He revealed that the approved total budget estimate of N3,772,005,918.00 is being earmarked for 2013 fiscal year with a total recurrent revenue at N2, 703, 005, 818, 000.00 while the total capital receipt is N1, 109, 300, 000.00.
He said the essence of the budget is to ensure that the programmes and policies of the State Government were vigorously complemented to the benefit of mankind adding that the budget proposal would enhance the development of the rural communities and eliminate poverty and diseases.
Ekiyor recalled that during his seven months in office, a total N716, 239, 094.28 was received as allocation and N78, 953, 251.67 as excess crude allocation.
He explained that the money was used for payment of salaries, capital projects, free medical care, socio services and environmental sanitation.
