Graceland Diabetes Foundation to Offer Free Diabetes, Hypertension Screening In Delta State

LAGOS APRIL 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)- A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Graceland Diabetes Foundation in Collaboration with Okpe Community, Sapele will be offering free diabetes and high blood pressure awareness campaigns screening and medication for people in Sapele, Delta State.
A press statement signed by the Founder of Graceland Diabetes Foundation, Mrs. Mercy Ekpoke made available to URHOBOTODAY an online medium said the free diabetes and high blood screening and awareness exercise will take place at Okpe Hall, by Olympia Sapele, Delta State on April 12th, 2014 as from 8.00 am.

Ekpoke who disclosed that the aims of Graceland Diabetes Foundation is to give basic fundamental definition of the ailment “Diabetes”, provide basic help and support to diabetes patients, create awareness to the diabetes and hypertension patients of the dangers of developing coronary heart disease and educate patients on the risk of developing heart attack and stroke advised those coming for the screening and awareness campaign to come to the venue without eating so as to achieve better diagnostic result.
Graceland Diabetes Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), registered in Nigeria by concern citizen committed to uplifting the health and living condition of Nigerians, especially the less privileged. Established by health care personnel trained in United Kingdom with civil society bias, they offer free screening and advisory services for Diabetes and its twin aliment Hypertension, to people in communities that otherwise would have difficulty accessing such services. They have the obligation to Nigerians to help eradicate sudden death caused by these killer diseases.
Diabetes and Hypertension, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), are two silent diseases that are getting increasingly prevalent in our society. Owing to widespread ignorance in our country, the group is complementing the work of government and the health authorities to bring awareness, which is the first step to relief, to people across Nigeria.
Life is to be lived in good health and well being. Therefore, help to eradicate these silent killers and put a smile on the less privileged by saving a life today.
