German Businessmen Partner Port-Harcourt Chamber of Commerce

In an attempt to create a virile and value laden relationship that will bolster business ties between German businessmen and Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce (PHCCIMA), a very resourceful member of the German Chamber of Commerce and Advisor of Thyssenkrup Engineering Pty Ltd, Mr. Koss Smit, earlier in February paid a visit to the President and members of Port Harcourt chamber of Commerce at the chamber office in Port Harcourt.
Speaking to a gathering of executive and members of PHCCIMA, Mr. Smit said the visit was an attempt to get acquainted with business opportunities and priorities in Rivers state with a view to match Thussenkrup Engineering Company’s objectives that will be mutually beneficial.
He said the company has a history spanning over 200 years and are basically into marine, engineering, mining, material handling, ship building, automotive and airline business with added interest in oil and gas downstream, plastic and more.
He observed that Rivers state and Nigeria are potentially emerging markets hence the visit. Smit noted that the company’s operation in Africa has been on the low with operations in Egypt, Morocco, East Africa and South Africa summing up to only 3% of its total operations.
Basically, he said the venture into Nigeria was to create new horizons for mutual opportunities in content, people and opportunities.
President of PHCCIMA in his remark said he has come to the right place where the objective is to make businesses thrive through various collaborations. He, however, said PHCCIMA member companies interested in dealing with Thyssenkrup Engineering will have to get a clear cut detail and understanding of the content for a better collaboration because PHCCIMA has what it takes, the reach, contacts and capabilities to make the proposed march making workable.
“Let me on behalf of the chamber assure you that PHCCIMA is willing, eager and open to work with you,” Unachukwu assured.
