Four Jailed for Breaking Environmental Laws in Delta State
At least four people were, yesterday sentenced to two weeks imprisonment for going against the Delta state’s environmental laws. The sentence was passed by a mobile court sitting in Udu, Udu LocalGovernment Area, Delta State.
About Thirty-five others who were found guilty of similar offence were to pay fines of N500 to N1,000 while the remaining three were discharged on health related issue. The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Frank Omare who was at the special environmental Sanitation exercise held in the state, urged Deltans to adhere strictly to ongoing policy of safe and clean environment.

He had affirmed that those convicted is an obvious warning to others who may want to violate the state’s environmental laws.
