Five Days after Ghastly Auto Accident, Oshiomole Goes into Hiding

Edo State Governor, Comrade Adam Oshiomole

LAGOS JANUARY 3RG (URHOBOTODAY)-Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state, is yet to make a public appearance about five days after he involved in a ghastly auto crash.
African Examiner gathered that the Edo state number one citizen, has been away from public view since after his convoy had an accident at Ewu, along the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway that had claimed several lives and property in the past.

It would be recalled that A J-5 Peugeot bus, reportedly loaded with plantains and tomatoes allegedly experienced break failure, and left its lane and rammed into the travelling convoy of the governor.
However, Initial report e-mailed to Newsmen by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Kassim Afegbua, said nobody sustained injury in the crash.
The statement reads: “Three vehicles in the governor’s convoy were in front of the Governor’s Flag Car and had passed the Peugeot J5 bus before the bus had direct impact with the governor’s car which had the governor, his aide-de-camp and his driver as occupants.
“The governor’s car was badly affected but no injuries were sustained by both occupants of the Peugeot J5 bus and that of the governor” Afegbua narrated.
But following the governor’s unexplained absence from the public since then, our correspondent reliably gathered from an reliable source close to the Edo Government House on New Year Day that Oshiomhole might have sustained injuries from the accident, contrary to the Government House report.
The source said the governor is believed to have sustained some injuries in his shoulder and jaw.
As at the time of filing this report, however, it was yet to be ascertained how severe or minor the injury was and if the governor was presently receiving treatment from any hospital.
Though, Governor Oshiomhole’s Chief of Staff, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, said Thursday that the governor is hale and hearty, adding that all is well with him.
However, his Chief Press Secretary CPS, Mr. Peter Okhiria, had also said the governor has not been able to make any public appearance because he was out of town, a journey he has already arranged before the accident occurred.
African Examiner recalled that Governor Oshiomhole and his convoy were also involved in an auto crash that occurred on Saturday, April 28, 2012 on the Auchi-Sabongida Ora road in Edo North senatorial district of the state, where he had gone to flag-off his political campaign for re-election then.
