Ekpan Community Lambasts PPMC over Donation of Sub-Standard Material to Schools

WARRI: The Unuevworo of Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief (Col) Mike Torey (rtd) has lambasted the Management of the Pipeline Products and Marketing Company (PPMC) for the the presentation of substandard and small quantity of writing chairs and tables to the community.
Torey made this remark recently at the Ekpan Secondary School during the presentation of a sub-standard material charged the company to live up to its social responsibility.
According to him, “We (Ekpan people) are not underdogs and I see no reason why we should be degraded by this figment presentation. I mean we (Ekpan) are the host community and should be given a fair play.
“Ordinarily we ought to have rejected these less quanlity and quantity furniture and handful of textbooks, but as it is now, I want to place on record that our community is not happy with the items presented and called on the Management of PPMC to go back to their drawing board and do what it is expected of them to do either social or corporate.”
Secretary of the Ekpan Community, Chief Peter Akemu, who spoke in the same vein, said the presentation of the items by the company falls short of the social expectations and responsibility to the people of Ekpan Community.
Chief Akemu also called on the Management to retrace, sit up and live above board to their social responsibility to the people of Ekpan Community.
