DESOPADEC Commissioner, Ominimini Commissions Double Projects, Hails Uduaghan’s Developmental Stride

In continuation of commissioning of series of projects in his constituency, Commissioner representing Ughelli North and Ethiope East in the board of Delta State Oil Producing Area Commission (DESOPADEC), Rt. Hon. (Chief) Chris- Ominimini Obiuwevbi a has commissioned on Monday commissioned two projects.
They are water project at Ujovwe community in Agbarha and a transformer at Imiroje village also located in Agbarha in Ughelli North L.G.A., Delta state.

While commissioning the water project, the commissioner thanked the governor of Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for creating DESOPAEC through which, the dividend of democracy had been delivered to the people of the state.
He stated that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan had been a blessing to the state since he was elected into office in 2011 by the people, adding that the state has been transformed positively because they had a listening governor who is determined to bridge the gap big between the urban and rural areas of the state through infrastructural development.
.His words, “I am grateful to the Governor of Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for all the good work that he had been doing in the state. I wish to particularly thank him for making this project a success because without him, there would have been no commissioning today”
He said that water is life and the only way to ensure that the people remain healthy, is to provide healthy water and portable water to them. He said that the government would do more for the people of the community because they are the once that voted them into office.
The Vice Chairman of Ujovwe community, Mr. Solomon Adjedjevwe who responded on behalf of the community, thanked the Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan, DESOPADEC and Chief Ominimini, for the provision of the water project which he described as a life saving project. He noted that the water project would no doubt go along way in promoting the living standard of the people of his community.
According to him, “We have been without good water since this village was founded many years ago. We have been drinking from wells that are infested with mosquito larva. These contaminated well water, have brought a lot of diseases upon the people of this community which have brought about the untimely death of many people.”
In another development, Ominimini also commissioned a transformer that was purchased and installed by DESOPADEC at Imiroje village in Agbarha, Ughelli LGA of Delta state.
According to the commissioner, the transformer was given to the people in other to provide light for the community. He noted that the community has been without electricity for a very long time. The commissioner said while commissioning the transformer said that, “the people of Imiroje had been in darkness for a very long time. But today, by the grace of God, the governments of Dr.EmmanuelUduaghan have come to take away that darkness and replace it with light”.
Mr. John Ototu a member of the community thanked the provider of the transformer and said that before now, they had been in the middle of light yet they were in darkness. His words “the transformer has brought the much needed light into this community. Before now, we are in darkness while Edoede and Oghara the two communities before and after us respectively have light. May God bless and strengthen chief Ominimini to do more”
Chief Ominimini said that the projects were sited in t he communities according to to the order of priority. He however, tasked the benefiting communities to protect the projects from been destroyed by hoodlums in the society. He said that the best way to encourage the government to do more for them is to ensure that the projects that are located in their society areadequately protected from destruction.
