LAGOS APRIL 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Commissioner representing Ndokwa Nation, Sir Kenny Okolugbo has empowered the physically challenged people residing in Ndokwa Nation.
The Commissioner presented sixteen new tricycles and N2.5m cash to the physical challenged in his administrative area with an assurance that N10m has been budgeted in 2015 budget for the welfare of physically challenged persons in Ndokwa nation.

Speaking to URHOBOTODAY after the presentation at Obiaruku, Delta State, Okolugbo who also commissioned street light of twenty six poles stretching from the beginning of Uumujwata town to the Okpaluku palace said his aspiration to better the lives of his people is part of the continuation of finishing strong programme of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration.
“If you notice we have been mobilizing the people to vote for the continuity of the good governance of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). We also sanitise them on the importance of DESOPADEC as a body and as a nation,” he reiterated.

As for the physically challenged, he said, if the tricycles is put into effective use, it would generate funds for the Ndokwa Disable Association and also further expand the business resulting in more purchase of tricycles from proceed generated.
According to him, “You could imagine sixteen tricycles working at the same time. That is an average of N160, 000 in a week. You will agree with me that, that is over N600, 000 in a month, which is about N7.2m in a year. This is Delta Beyond Oil we are talking about. These are the things Uduaghan is doing that many do not know. So we are bringing it to the forefront so that people can see the beauty of what Emmanuel Uduaghan has done. “
He advised the elated physically challenged persons to make profitable use of the tricycles and ensure they are maintain so that their effort would not be in vein.

“We have budgeted N10m in this year’s budget for them. We have set a template for others to follow. We are not only living strong, but we are building a legacy, so that the coming administration can build on the legacy we created,” he affirmed.
Despite his numerous achievements as DESOPADEC Commissioner and with barely two months to live office, Okolugbi disclosed that he still has no fewer than fifty completed projects to be commissioned before living office.
‘This is the reason why I told you we are going to touch more lives. Beside other numerous completed projects that are yet to be commissioned, we have Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan Civil Centre at Obiaruku that is yet to be commissioned. In that centre we have event centre, Library, restaurant, supermarket and Information Technology Mall among others,” he affirmed.
