Delta State to Establish Biggest Shoe Factory in West-Africa

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has said that the State Government has planned to set up the biggest shoe factory in West Africa under the State Micro-Credit Programme.
Uduaghan who gave this indication while briefing journalists in the state, gave a pass mark to the State Micro Credit Programme for the progress it has made so far, adding that his administration is partnering with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in that regard.
According to him, the shoe factory would be a rallying point for our local manufacturers to showcase their craft to the outside world.
Dr. Uduaghan pointed out that Delta State is politically stable even as a multiple-city state and advised those who have political ambitions to go about it quietly.
Responding to the question of ban on commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada, the governor stated that it has really helped in the area of peace and security, especially during the yuletide period, adding that while plans are underway to extend the ban to some other areas in the state.
He assured that his government would ensure that alternatives are made to cushion the effects of the ban on the people in the state.
