LAGOS AUGSUT 16TH *URHOBOTODAY)-Labour Party candidate in Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu federal constituency of Delta State in the 2015 general election, Chief Julius Akpovoka, has raised the alarm accusing member of House Representative representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu federal constituency and Peoples Democratic Chieftain of threatening his life, Chief Solomon Ahwinahwi of threatening to kill him.
Ahwinahwi, however, denied the allegation in a telephone chat with our corresponding, asking Akpovoka popular known as ‘Urhobo Dangote’ to show proof of threat to his life by him.

It would be recalled that in the just concluded house of representative election in the aforementioned constituency both candidates were engaged in a street brawl to the extent that they were arrested and locked up in Ughelli Police station cell. In the cell they continued with the fight with both of them sustaining various degree of injuries.
Akpovoka who disclosed the threat to his life while addressing newsmen at Ughelli, Delta State recounted that his life was threatened by Ahwinahwin during a verbal confrontation he had with the House member at a re conciliatory meeting between himself and Awhinawhin at the Warri residence of a politician in the state.
According him, “I have reported the matter to the police and they have written back to me, adding that they would investigate the allegation.”
On the outcome of the 2015 House of Representative election in which Ahwinahwin was declared the winner in a rescheduled election, Akpovoka accused some officials of the Delta State Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP of conspiracy during the collation of results for the election.
Akpovoka in a petition to the Inspector General of Police accused three officials of the commission in the state of conniving with the PDP candidate, Hon Solomon Awhinawhin to upturn the results of the election.
He alleged that during the result collation process, forged results were collated in favour Ahwinahwin by INEC officials , while original results in some LP strongholds were intentional not admitted for collation.
When our correspondent contacted Ahwinahwin on telephone, he took a swipe at Akpovoka, over the allegations, describing the allegations as false and malicious.
“Would my so-called threat to Akpovoka upturn the election result? He took me to court saying he won the election and the case is before the court.
“As for the petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), let the police invite me as I am yet to be invited. If they do, I would gladly go there, but in the mean time, Akpovoka should also be prepared to tender an evidence of my threat to his life,” he said.
