Delta 2023: We Would Not Vote For ‘Maze-Snatcher’ As Gov, Delta North APC Declared
LAGOS JULY 12TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Delta State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) yesterday declared that the party would not back any aspirant who imposes his Governorship Candidature on party members in the state.
Speaking during a Delta North meeting on Kwale, Ndokwa West LGA of the state, a Chieftain of the party, Dr. Cairo Ojugboh, said they would not pool their votes behind a maze-rustler.
According to Ojugboh, “We support a candidate with a good character. We would not accept someone who can rus¬tle maze as Governor of Delta State in 2023”.
He lamented the attempts of the outgoing party chairman, Jones Erue, to stop the Delta North stakeholders’ meeting.
He charged party members to make themselves available to strengthen the party in the district through meetings as the 2023 election draws near.
While describing attempts of some leaders to stop the meeting as child’s play, Former Speaker of Delta State, Rt. hon. Victor Ochei said the party would resist any one who forces his candidature on the people.
“All we are looking for is a person who would occupy the office of Governor from the party. We are looking for someone with vision for infrastructural Development not a dictator” he stated.
He mentioned that all efforts to foster peace amongst ranks in the party have been hampered by divisive leadership.
” APC is not about what Ochei or Cairo wants, it is about the success of the party” he asserted.
He then urged party members not to take voters registration for granted saying that, without your voters card, we cannot flog the current party out of power.
Earlier, State Deputy Chairman, Engr. Elvis Ayomanor passed a vote of confidence on Delta North meeting saying that 24 of 34 exco members signed for the meeting to be held.
Also, Senatorial Chairman, Delta North District Caretaker Committee, Ogbueshi Ben Onwuka stressed that will no longer tag along or behind any other district.
” I want to commend the unwavering and enormous investment of Dr Cairo Ojugboh and Engr. Victor Ochei to the unity of Delta North APC” he noted.
