Chartered Institute of Public Management Organises Professional Capacity Building Programme in Benin

LAGOS AUGUST 2ND (URHOBOTODAY)-The Chartered Institute of Public Management, IPM, Nigeria has announced the presentation of one of its Mandatory Professional Capacity Building programmes holding in Benin City, Edo State on 13th August, 2016 with the theme: GLOBAL ECONOMIC RECESSON: the challenges facing the government and public managers.
According to the release made available by the Registrar, Mr. Opene stated that the Institute will use the occasion to undertake the investiture of Honorary Fellowship on some Very Distinguished Nigerians including; Bishop (Professor) Vincent I. Iyawe, Provost College of Medical Sciences, University of Benin, Benin City, Professor Moses Momoh, also of the University of Benin, Benin City and Engineer (Dr.) Frederick N. Ogbeide (FNSE, JP) of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, respectively.
The training programme and the investiture are slated to hold at the Da-Civic centre, Airport road, Benin City. The Registrar informed that the Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria, IPM was chartered by an Act of the National Assembly, 2015 Bill No. HB 422, and it is meant to attract and train Nigerians from both the public and private sectors of the nations’ economy; while it welcomes regular and intending members to attend the programme, so as to boost their official capacities and enhance their performance in their different professions and trades.
According to Mr. Opene, that as a result of the large membership of the Institute spread across varied professions and fields, the Mandatory training programmes is organized annually to update the professional capacity of its members in every quarter of each year.
He says “Our members have to be engaged periodically through such Mandatory Professional Capacity Building training programmes, to make them get familiar with the nitty- gritty of daily occurrences in governance and management generally.”
