Aziza is Dead, but his Vision is Alive, Omo-Agege Declares


LAGOS AUGUST 26TH (URHOBOTODAY0)Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege has declared that although the President –General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Chief (Major-General) Patrick Aziza is dead, his vision for Urhobo nation is fully alive.
Omo-Agege who made the declaration weekend while on a condolence visit to the family of the late general and members of UPU Executives at the country home of Aziza, Adagbrasa, Okpe Local Government Area (LGA), Delta State told members of UPU executive present that there is no better tribute they would pay to Aziza than sustaining the vision he left behind, stressing that the vision Aziza had for Urhobos must not die in vain.
He said they should not allow people laugh at Urhobos that after Aziza’s demise, his vision died with him.

“I know that the vision he has for the Urhobos is also the vision of UPU. Although, he is dead, his vision is on. Do not allow them laugh at us that after his death, his vision died with him. I believe there is no better tribute we can pay to him than to sustain and continue with the vision he left behind. I do not think he needs more than that,” Omo-Agege said.
Omo-Agege who said he would not mourn Aziza’s death, but celebrate it because of his great achievements on earth urged Aziza to smile wherever he is right now because he had always been a smiling man.
Hear him, “We will celebrate Aziza, we will give him befitting burial. I do not know what he had not achieved. He had achieved everything in life except becoming President of Nigeria. He did not die in vain because he had the best medical treatment. He came, played his role and gone. He should be giving a befitting burial. “
Turning to Aziza’s family, Obaisi said, “Although you are his biological children, but we are all his children. You will not walk alone. We shall all be there for you.”
Responding, Ag. President General of UPU, Engr. Joe Omene thanked Omo-Agege for paying condolence visit to UPU EXCO and Aziza’s family just as he pointed that Omo-Agege had always been behind them.
Omene promised that UPU executive would sustain Aziza’s achievements so that he would rest in peace in heaven, maintaining that they would surely fulfill what Aziza thought about an Urhobo governor.
Omene who revealed that all the messages in the condolence register described Aziza as a good man promised that UPU would copy his good qualities and give him a befitting burial.
“He created a solid foundation for UPU by bringing UPU EXCO members from different part of Urhobo land and conducted a free and fair election. His action had made UPU gained the respect of the people. His achievements are reflected in messages in the condolence register which described him as a good man. We promise to copy his good qualities, fulfill his vision and give him a befitting burial,” Omene assured Omo-Agege.
