Angry Urhobo Youths Demands for Arrest, Prosecution of Ogbe Onokpite’s Killers

Urhobo Youths under the aegis of Coalition of Urhobo Youth Leaders and Stakeholders (CUYLS), have demanded for the immediate arrest and persecution of all those involved in the extra judicious murder of an Urhobo Youth Leader and governorship aspirant, Chief Ogbe Onokpite on the 26th of November, 2011.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the Convener and President of the group, Comrade Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro called for the apprehension and prosecution of those involve in the evil act, stressing that Urhobo youths are ready to upturn any stone in their quest to ensure that the killers of the vibrant Urhobo Youth Leader are arrested and persecuted.
He declared that the Urhobo Youths are ready to go to any length and do anything legally possible to ensure that those involved in the killing of Chief Ogbe Onokpite are arrested and persecuted.
He called on the appropriate authorities to hastily arrest and persecute those that killed Chief Ogbe Onokpite.
His words, “We are demanding for the immediate arrest and persecution of the killers of Chief Ogbe Onokpite. We the Youths of Urhobo Nation will do anything that is legally possible to ensure that the killers of our brother and leader are brought to book. This must not be business as usually. We demand that the appropriate authorities arrest and persecute the killers”.
This demand came during the Chief Ogbe Onokpite Memorial Tribute organised by Coalition of Urhobo Youth Leaders on the 26th of November, 2014 at Ughelli, Delta State.
The group who also used the medium to declare their total support for “Uvwimuge Declaration” said they would mobilize Urhobo youths from all the Eight L.G.A of Urhobo Nation to make the declaration come into fulfillment.
The group commended the leadership of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU. They specially thanked Chief Joe Omene lead UPU for providing the much needed quality leadership to Urhoboland.
