Senator Emmanuel Aguariavbodo

Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo in company of his family, friends and well wishers recently storm All Saints Cathedral, Ughelli, Delta State to give thanks to God on the success of his election into the Senate.
The thanks giving service which was attended by the important dignitaries in Delta State across the nation and those in Diaspora witnessed the present of Delta State Deputy Governor Professor Amos Utuama, members of Delta State House of Assembly, Commissioners and bigwigs of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The crowd that storm the premises of the Church to thank God along with Aguariavbodo and his family was unprecedented in the history of the Church.
In a chat with newsmen Aguariavwodo assured Urhobos that what belong to them would surely come back to them.
“The Urhobo people would get what they deserve. We are working hard towards attaining this goal. What belongs to the Urhobo people would surely come back to them” Aguariavbodo promised.
On the revitalization of the Delta Steel Company (DSC), he said, “there are a lot of stakeholders involved in the restoration of DSC, I am in touch with them and we are working hard. Whatever that needs to be done for it to come alive again, would be done.”
During the thanks giving service, Rt. Rev Cyril Odutemu while taking his sermon from Matthew 3:8, charged both political office holders and clerics alike to bear good fruits that would profit them at the close of age.
He frowned at clerics who make Government House their place of regular call, stating that there is nothing wrong in praying for those in public offices, but condemned a situation where ministers of God frequent government houses in the name of prophesy giving or sending text messages to them demanding for money on regular basis.
While maintaining that such practices cheapens the calling clerics, besides creating an atmosphere for pestering those in political offices, Odutemu warned elected government officials to be weary of those who crowd them with wrong advice so as to get favour from them, stressing that many of such persons are mere sycophants whose trade in stock is to extort money at all times. The cleric therefore, enjoined all political and public office holders to seek God’s face and directive in their daily endeavour, so that they will not go amiss.
On his part, the State Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama commended the church on its roll in indoctrinating the principles of God on elected government officials.
Utuama, thanked the people of Delta Central for voting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as bringing the Urhobo nation to the mainstream of politics.
The chairman of the occasion was HRM Lucky Ochuko Ararile, the Ovie of Umiaghawa-Abraka kingdom.
