Delta LGA Election: Kiagbodo PDP Adopts Ebikeme Clark as Burutu Chairman

LAGOS JUNE 19TH (URHOBOTODAY)- Members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kiagbodo Ward 8 in Burutu Local Government Area (LGA), Delta State have adopted Burutu Local Government Chairmanship aspirant Chief Ebikeme Clark as their candidate for the position of local government chairman.
Adopting Ebikeme in an elaborate meeting held at Ughelli, members of the party from Kiagbodo ward 8 who unanimously endorsed Ebikeme as their sole candidate for the position, appealed to other neighbouring communities in Burutu local government area to back Ebikeme in his quest to become the Local Government Chairman.
They unanimous agreed to seek the support of PDP members in other wards in Burutu local government area to ensure that Ebikeme emerge as the local government chairman of Burutu LGA.
Prominent members of the ward present in the occasion were the PDP leader of Ward 8, Alhaji (Barr) Isa Clark, PDP Secretary Burutu LGA, Mr. Ayedi Ozano, PDP Ward 8 Chairman, Mr. Ogbavwudu, Ex-Councilor of Burutu LGA, Hon. Godwin Masah and Ex-Councilor, Mrs. Gift Gomerovwe among host of others.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of supporters, Burutu Local Government Chairmanship Aspirant, Chief Ebikeme Clark assured them that he would bring dividends of democracy to Burutu local government area as a whole, adding that his contesting for the chairmanship of the Council is to ensure that people benefit from the funds and resources that belong to them.
According to Ebikeme, “If I am elected as the Chairman of Burutu LGA, I hope to reach out to the state and federal government to place more emphasis on Burutu Local government in term of infrastructural and human capital development. The funds coming to the local government is very little. As such, I will not sit down in my local government and work on the allocation alone. Rather, I will ask the state governor to assist to bring mega projects to my local government.”
He pointed out that although those who were at the arms of affair of the local government have done their best, he, however, believed that he could do more by being transparent.
“Transparency will bring more dividends of democracy to the people than they are getting presently. The issue of market, environment, toilets which are basic things of local government will be properly done than how they were being done now. My local government is in riverine area. We are going to construct bridges to link the communities to each other so as to help to bring key development to the local government. I will not disappoint you if you give me your mandate. I will go there and make you proud. Keep on supporting me. Talk to your friends in other wards,” Ebikeme appealed.
Earlier in his speech, PDP Leader in Ward 8, Alhaji Isa Clark appealed to PDP members in the ward to support Ebikemi in his quest to become the local government chairman, just as he appealed that they should also rally support of people in other wards within the local government area to ensure that Ebikeme emerge successfully as the local government chairman.
“We should not go home and sleep that Ebikemi has been endorse. There are challenges. We need to work assiduously to ensure that he emerge as the chairman of the local government,” he appealed.
