LAGOS JANUARY 26TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The Delta State Police Command today rescued an allegedly stolen nine month old child named Winner Igbinowamhia at about 12:30 hours at No 218 Old Abraka Road, Abavo in Ika South Local Government Area.
Speaking to journalists, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Charles Muka said the attention of police was drawn when the mother of the child, Blessing Igbinowamhia, discovered that her child was nowhere to be found. She raised an alarm which attracted the youths of Abavo community, who mobilized others in search of the suspect and the victim.
They eventually trailed and handed the suspect, one Osakpanwan Ebose, aged 36, a driver to the Obi of Abavo and the child rescued from his golf 3 car with Reg no GGG 767 XD who were immediately taken to the Abavo Police Station.
The suspect who was crying and pleading that he is innocent, pointed out that they are neighbors and he only took the child up to buy him food which did not take up to an hour before he was discovered missing and he had no intention to harm the child whatsoever and does not know anything.
The police command has however stated that the case will be charged to court as investigations are continuing.
