All three suspects found guilty in the murder of Cynthia Osokogu, will today be arraigned in a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja. It will be recalled that the presiding Judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade, adjourned the matter when at the last hearing, Orji Osita, the pharmacist, and other suspects were absent from court stalling the scheduled arraignment.
It was learnt that those who are to be arraigned before the court, include the two main suspects, Okwumo Nwabufo and Ezike Olisaeloka. A third suspect, Ezike Ifechukwu, will also be arraigned for allegedly receiving stolen goods.
Justice, Mr Ade Ipaye, the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, had earlier stated that all those found guilty in the killing of Cynthia would be tried for her murder based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The DPP’s advice written to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, D department, Panti, Yaba, signed by, Mrs M.B. Olaniyi, for the Ipaye, found Nwabufo and Ezike Ikechukwu Olisaeloka as the main culprits for the murder of Cynthia. The duo were found guilty of offences of murder, conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to commit felony to wit stealing.
On the other hand, Ifechukwu was found culpable of allegedly receiving stolen property contrary to sections 326(1) (2) Law of Lagos State.
