Rio Olympic: Ejovwokoghene Oduduru Gives Bolt Hot Chase, Finishes Second in 200 Meter (PHOTOS)
LAGOS AUGUST 17TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Nigerian Olympian runner Ejovwokoghene Oduduru finished in second place in the 200 meter with a speed of 20.34 seconds. He gave famed Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt who came first with a time of 20.28 seconds hot chase.
Oduduru who was running from Lane 8, attacked the curve very fast and maintained his speed down the home stretch, to wade off at least 4 other athletes who had better Personal Bests (PBs) and Season’s Bests (SBs).
The race, in the ninth heat, is the fastest time for a Nigerian athlete in history of his event.
Like the proverbial lizard who praised itself by shaking its head after falling from high iroko tree, Oduduru took to his twitter saying, “It was nice to shake hands with the big man @usainbolt after the race. I am humbled #INeverExperredIt #TeamUnion.”
