REVEALED: Why I Plotted Kidnap of Edwin. Clark’s Son- Kinsman

Chief Edwin Clark's kinsman, Mr David Emevor answering question from reporters at the Delta State Police Command, Asaba on why he plotted the abduction of Ebikeme Clark

LAGOS APRIL 15TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Chief Edwin Clark kinsman, David Emevor, an indigene of Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA, Delta State has revealed why he plotted the kidnapped of Chief Ebikeme Clark son of Ijaw leader Chief Edwin Clark.
It would be recalled that Ebikeme was kidnapped recently at Kiagbodo while paying workers at the site of his father’s university but released three days later after the intervention of Ijaw leaders in lerson of Tompolo and others.

In his response to reporters’ question, while being paraded among five other suspect paraded by Delta State police command at Asaba, David Emevor opened up saying that they (gang) particularly chose the son of the elder statesman because he (Chief E.K. Clark) allegedly failed to provide them with jobs despite their conviction that he has the capacity to do so, given his high connection with the powers that be.
He submitted that “due to the frustration we are passing through we decided to kidnap the victim to enable us raise some money to establish ourselves in business”.
David who plotted the kidnap scheme with the benefit of being an inside said it is evidence in Kiagbodo that Clark is only interested in making use of the youths in his community during election after which he would dump them to their fate.
“There is nothing to show for it that we have a personality in person of Edwin Clark who eats and dine with “who is who in the society”. Kiagbodo is not developed. There is no industry to provide employment for the youths. During the amnesty none of the youths were empowerd. Clark has not deem it fit to ask the government to develop the community or establish industries which will provide jobs for the youths. He is only interested in himself. Even his younger ones from his family lineage are not benefitting from his closeness with those at Abuja,” David Emevor disclosed, adding that there is no Kiagbodo person with appointment at the Federal or state level. “
