Fred Ajudua Docked Again, Faces 28 Count Charge
LAGOS MAY 26TH (URHOBOTODAY)-A Lagos socialite and lawyer, Fred Ajudua has again been re-arraigned for allegedly obtaining the sum of 8.4 million dollars from former Chief of Army Staff General Isaya Bamaiyi while they were both in Kirikiri maximum prison.
He was initially charged with a court registrar Ronke Rosulu for consipracy to obtain money under false pretence.
Midway into the trial, Ronke Rosulu through her lawyer, Bamidele Ogundele opted for separate trial.
She was later convicted for the offence committed when she was the Registrar attached to Justice Olubunmi Oyewole when he was a judge in the Lagos State judiciary.
At Thursday proceedings, Fred Ajudua faced a -28 count charge which he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Trial dates have been fixed for September 15, 20, 21 and 22 this year.
Fed Ajudua was accused of obtaining the money under the pretence of giving it to justice Oyewole through Chief Afe Babalola, SAN to facilates Bamaiyi’s freedom when he was facing trial for his alleged role in the attempted murder of Mr Alex Ibru, the late Guardian Publisher.
