Rita Lori under attack by Uduaghan agents

Barely few days after which the Igba of Warri (Irowojo), Chief Rita Lori Ogbebor rejected Christmas cow and rice allegedly presented to her by Delta State Governor Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta Leaders under aegis of Peoples’ Movement has disagreed with her over her combatant attitude to the Governor saying they would not tolerate any action or intent that would create tension among the people.
The leaders in a statement signed by the Director of Communications of the People’s Movement, Mrs. Ibifuro Tatua expressed their disappointment over the incessant attack on the governor by Chief Ogbebor, vowing not to tolerate any action or intent that would bring confusion and create tension among the people.

The leaders described the never-ending attack on Governor Uduaghan by Chief Ogbebor and others as a feature of desperate politicians and some greedy elders in Delta State that have lost it to the forces of the people.

“Delta State can never be a property of a few selfish leaders and their shylock godfathers. Delta State can never be the property of desperate politicians and their collaborators. Delta State can never be the property of indifferent elite that do not bother about the running of the state but see money, contract and looting of the treasury as the ultimate motives for human existence” the leaders vowed.

The leaders bemoaned the pull him down syndrome by some elders against the governor, identifying the governor’s open and honest style of governance and his refusal to pander to the whims and caprices of the elite as the sources of his problems with them.
The leaders who also advised Chief Ogbebor and others not to fuel crises in the state through wide and baseless allegations, challenged the Igba of Warri to conduct herself as a responsible mother and elder by building and uniting her home and community.
“Politics can be played with a modicum of character, decorum, decency and civilized behavior. We therefore appeal to disgruntled and attention seeking elders and politicians bent on destabilizing the Delta State government to look elsewhere” the statement said.
