Delta Central Election Updates: No Voting Materials at Umolo Community, Umolo Indigenes Cry Out

By Our Reporter
People of Umolo-Olomu Community in Ughelli South LGA, Delta State have raised the alarm that voting materials have not arrived in their community as at 1.00 pm despite that they have been at the polling booth since 7.00 am
. The voters numbering thousands milling around Umolo primary school where there are about three polling booths are lamenting that they have not seen any voting material or INEC staff, adding that this might be a way of preventing them from voting for their choice candidate.
A lady simply identified as Mama Alice told Urhobotoday that she has been at the polling booth since 7.00 am, adding it is about 1.00 pm neither INEC officials nor voting materials are on sight.
“This is another method of trying to disfranchise us. What kind of society is there? This election is a sham. How can people who registered to vote for an election are deprived by some people from voting because they have special interest,” she lamented, just as she called on INEC to cancel the election.
But, rumour milling among the anxious voters however revealed that they were informed that the voting materials are on their way, saying that vehicle carrying the materials may have branch other areas to off load voting materials.
But an angry gentleman who claimed he has been at the polling booth since in the morning disagreed with the report , arguing that they must have diverted the materials to unknown destination for thumb printing and later they will send the result to INEC office.
