Security operatives in Asaba, Delta State capital, have swooped on secret free sex joints operating around popular ‘mammy’ market and uncovered bags of hard drugs, including substances believed to be cocaine. Operators of the joints, drug addicts and fun seekers were said to have fled.
Delta State Police Spokesman, Mr Lucky Uyabeme, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) who confirmed the raid, said the joints harboured “angels of death” as sellers of cocaine, one of them a retired soldier who hides under the guise of being a provision store dealer to carry out the illicit sale of the drugs.
Uyabeme noted that high profile showbiz crooners and hookers gather at the joint at night pretending to onlookers that that were there to take local gin, otherwise known as ‘Ogogoro.’
Our correspondent gathered that under disguise, drug users go into one of the rooms where they allegedly sniff the illicit substance.
Sources said the cocaine transaction is ‘sweetened’ by the free offering of sexy ladies to the dealers. Those in the know said that patrons range between high profile showbiz crooners, and some highly placed politicians who during night dress in casual clothes and walk carelessly into the joints to escape notice.
Unconfirmed sources said patrons pay between N10,000 and N12,000 to have a sniff, after which they go to the sec chamber.
Some of the ladies are said to be students of higher institutions across the state who try to woo wealthy personalities to make money.
Uyabome affirmed detectives had been deployed to comb the joints for offenders.
