Betty Tekedou with her twins daughters

The dream of becoming a mother someday in the life of a cripple was fulfilled in the life of one Betty Tekedou when she gave birth to a set of twins despite being a cripple.
Our Bomadi Correspondent reports that the news of Betty Tekedou’s birth to a set of twin was seen by many as wonders of God, especially to those who know her condition as a cripple.
To the 30-year old mother of the identical twins who was full of excitement, being a cripple did not stop her man from visiting her.
How love could lead a man was demonstrated when love led late Ebike Murtala, father of the twins to the heart of Betty Tekedou. Not many
could sense the duo were in romance. Takedou, an indigene of Ogodobiri community in Bomadi local government area is now blessed with two girls, whom she described as “double blessings”.

She spoke sympathetically in memory of her love, describing late Murtala as the man who has brought joy into her life but could not live to see how God has blessed them.
The twin mother who could not hold back her feelings disclosed to newsmen that “when I was informed of my 3 months pregnancy by a
medical doctor, I could not believe my ears. When it became obvious that I was pregnant I thanked God for his Grace upon my life and I
prayed that he should see me through my delivery. In spite of the many challenges I passed through because of my condition, I delivered safely, and my children are very healthy. I am now a mother”, Tekedou narrated.
When Fresh Angle visited the residence of the twin mother in a wattle and dilapidated house at Obrigbene Quarters, Bomadi, it was discovered that she was delivered at home by traditional birth attendants. The children were kicking and bouncing, looking very healthy as they grope for food. She appealed to the general public, spirited individuals to assist her raise the children whose father died last year.
While expressing her happiness over the safe delivery of the twin babies, Mrs. Baikwe Friday, mother of the cripple in her early 50s told
Fresh Angle that being a peasant farmer is not sufficient to adequately fend for the twins and therefore appealed to government and philanthropists to assist them.
