The Senate Committee on Education has urged Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State to continue to remain a strong motivator of education in Nigeria
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Sen. Uche Chukwumerije, said this when members of the Committee visited Governor Uduaghan at the Government House, Annex, Warri. The committee members rated the state high in education.
Senator Chukwumerije said they were impressed with the attention being given to basic education in particular and the entire education sector, adding that the governor has revolutionised the sector.

“Our inspection of your model schools is an eye opener to us because I have been to many of such throughout the Federation. All these further impressed us about what you are doing in education in this country.”
“When you add all that to what you have done to the education sector itself, what you have done is to place basic education in this state on auto drive. And if you move on this level, you are raising hope for Nigerian education sector”.
The Governor, who expressed the commitment of the state government towards maintaining the high standard it has set in education, added that as part of its commitment in actualizing her vision, the state has made it a point of duty to argument the payment of primary school teachers’ monthly, without delays, and with over N600m reserved for that.
While asserting that the state government is also committed to assisting tertiary institutions in the state, Dr. Uduaghan said that plans were on top gear to fix the road leading to Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun.
