An early morning fire allegedly caused by a mentally deranged man identified simply as William has rendered 7 tenants at 58 Ekpen Street, Okere in Warri homeless, Fresh Angle can report.
Sources within the premises stated that the fire which started at about 3: am was first noticed from the insane man’s room by members of the community civil defence team.
The mentally deranged man, William was alleged to have used inflammable substance overnight.
An eye witness told Fresh Angle that efforts by boys from the area as well as fire servicemen from Delta State fire service to put off the fire did not yield much due to apparent lack of equipment until officials of the Shell Petroleum Development Company fire Service arrived at about 4:00am to put off the inferno

While accusing fingers are pointing to the insane man of being the cause of the fire, some persons in the area traced the cause of the inferno to a sudden surge in PHCN voltage.

One of the victims of the fire who disclosed his first name as Mudin shared his experience this way, “na only my tv and generator, I fit carry come out, all my money burn for inside”.
