There seems to be confusion among the top members of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP leadership as ex-governor James Onanefe Ibori is cooling his feet in a London prison was alleged to instructed Delta State Governor Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan to present his choice candidate as the party flag bearer.
A source in Unity House,Asaba has alleged that Ibori has given a marching order to his cousin, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to use the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in delivering one of his core loyalists in the next political dispensation. We gathered from our source that some of the elected and appointed officials who are in the habit of going to London every month end to pay solidarity visits to him were told to throw their weight behind his choice.
According to our source, Ibori’s choice is no other person than Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa who is currently representing Delta North in the Senate. More revelations made available to us alleged that in 2006, a group known as the G3 which comprised of Ibori, Uduaghan and Okowa agreed to share power among themselves; and it was only a political calculation that made Okowa lose the PDP ticket to Uduaghan, in a well orchestrated plan by the trio.
This decision by Ibori is currently causing ripples in Delta State government house as our source stated that Uduaghan is not ready to hand over to Okowa, but his hands are currently tied, following the directive by his godfather and cousin who he sees as his benefactor.
Statement recently credited to the Delta State Secretary to the State government, Ovouzourie Macaulay over zoning is the voice of Esau, as we gathered that he is merely uttering the mind of the State governor who is not disposed to handing power over to Delta North as agreed in 2006.
Another source within the State PDP squealed to our reporter that the State Party Chairman, Mr Peter Nwaoboshi is also in tandem with the governor’s wish not to hand over power to Ifeanyi Okowa and is only feigning political quarrel with the state SSG over his statement.
“That is politics they are playing. They are not quarreling but deceiving you Journalists. Peter is scared of losing his PDP Chairmanship, knowing that once Okowa becomes the party candidate, he is no longer the party chairman. He is secretly supporting the people of Delta Central”, our alleged during a chat.
