Lagos Police to Clampdown on Unregistered Vehicles

LAGOS JANUARY 15TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Lagos State Police command has theaten to clampdown on unregistered vehicles plying Lagos roads if they are not registered within a month notice issued by the command.
Giving the directive a press statement titled, “The Unlawful Use of Unregistered Vehicles on Lagos Roads” signed by Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) made available to Urhobotoday, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Mr Umar Manko frowned at the way and manner at which vehicle road users violate laws of the land by operating their vehicles on Lagos roads without registration.
According to the statement, “He is hereby using this medium to advice and warn all motorists to make sure that their vehicles are adequately registered as the Command would only give a grace of one month with effect from January 13th, 2014 to February 13th, 2014. Thereafter, the Command would be left with no option than to commence a thorough clampdown on offenders. We will no longer tolerate such deviant behavior and violators will be charged to court.”
Police enjoined the public to assist the Command in combating crime and criminality by ensuring strict compliance.
