LAGOS MARCH 27TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Chairman of Onuesoke Foundation, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has appealed to government agencies, corporate organization and well to do Nigerians to extend assistant to less privilege people in the society.
Onuesoke made the call recently when some selected physically challenged persons under the sponsorship of Onuesoke Fpundation’s Scholarship programme paid a courtesy visit to the premises of the Foundation in Warri, Delta State.
Onuesoke who was represented by the Director of Operation, Onuesoke Foundation, Mrs Igho Pearl Ufuoma observed that taking care of the under privileged could be carried out through diverse approaches either through financial aid, provision of free health care services, free education and the rest of them.
He noted that it would be of great benefit to the society if the less privileged are encourage to go to school, learn trade or other developmental activities.
According to him, “ The alarming rate of poverty in our society today, in addition to the undesirable circumstances that surrounds many individuals, particularly the orphans and those that are suffering from one form of perpetual health deformity or the other, calls for passionate concern by the relevant government’s authorities, corporate organisations and well meaning individuals.”
He argued that in advanced societies like United Kingdom, India, America and the rest of them, issues bordering on socio-economic wellbeing of the less privileged are always treated with utmost priority.
“If they are encouraged it will go a long way in contributing to the social economic development of the society. It will increase the manpower and those established ones will be employer of labour. But if they are not encouraged they will become burden and menace to the society,” Onuesoke said
